The Numbers Game - GOAL Magazine - January 1987

This article is from an issue of GOAL Magazine from January 1987, which was the official NHL magazine. This one was stuffed into a Buffalo Sabres program from January 23, 1987 against Washington. Aside from all that though, as a then 6 year old kid, this article fascinated me, firstly because I had started playing goalie that season, and John Davidson's 00 was as cool as anything (and led me to pick 00 for my Uni Watch number!), but also because I had become aware of just how great Wayne Gretzky was, and was surprised to learn that he wasn't the first 99 in the league. In any event, before I lose the magazine, I figured it would be of interest to Uni Watchers... Enjoy the article!
