Review: After four years, and two personnel changes, we finally have a new Fuel album. The biggest and most obvious change is that of the lead singer, as Brett Scallions left the band, and the new singer is Toryn Green. Couldn’t have gotten more of a Brett sound-alike if they tried. He’s alright though, it certainly isn’t bad. A lesser-noticeable change is that drummer Kevin Miller is gone, replaced by former Godsmack / Lo-Pro drummer Tommy Stewart.
But on to the CD. Um, it’s a Fuel CD. After four years, and after how so-so Natural Selection was, I kinda thought they’d go big or go home on this one. Well, they went medium. It sounds just like Natural Selection did, nothing really stands out, but nothing really sucks either. I thought maybe Carl would have something awesome off his sleeve, but it’s the same old thing. I really want to love this CD as a longtime Fuel fan, but I’m not sure I can do anything more than just “like” it.
